Uber teams with Restaurant Traffic for Restaurant Week

As Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week descends rapidly upon us, the idea of choosing a designated driver may be the last thing on eaters’ minds right now. Not many people want to voluntarily give up their glass of wine, beer or cocktails—meant to be enjoyed with their fantastic three-course meals—for fear of getting too intoxicated to drive. Luckily, Restaurant Traffic and Uber have partnered up to help.

For those of you who haven’t created an account with Uber yet, you can enter the promo code “RESTAURANTTRAFFIC” to get $20 off of your first ride with the driving service, effectively making it far cheaper than a cab ride. In our experience, Uber drivers also tend to be more courteous because riders can rate their experiences through the app and have cleaner, newer vehicles than many taxi services. Don’t carry cash? The app bills guests directly from their phones, and tipping isn’t necessary (but accepted if rider’s are feeling generous).

If you do already have an Uber account, there’s also a special contest for current customers to win dinner for two at Vivace, Luciano’s, The Liberty and Harper’s restaurants. Just use the promo code “RWCLT2015” on any Uber ride now through Sunday to be automatically entered! Be sure to check out the official blog post for contest details.

The promo code for new Uber customers will be good for the entire duration of Restaurant Week (January 16–25). We encourage anyone who tries Uber for the first time to leave a comment about their experience below or to engage us on Facebook or Twitter, as well as sharing where you opted to go and experience the Queen City’s culinary offerings.
