Charlotte Dreams Of Sushi

Charlotte Dreams Of Sushi

Last week I was a good boy and finished all my chores early. This left me with some free time to finally watch Jiro Dreams of Sushi on Netflix. The film documents the history and habits of 85-year-old Jiro Ono who operates a 10 seat sushi restaurant in Japan, Sukiyabashi Jiro, considered by “pescophiles” to serve the greatest sushi on earth. Filmed with the HD glory of modern cinematography, Jiro, is straight-up hardcore food porn- gratuitous, raw, and sure to leave your mouth tasking like mercury the next day. I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys documentaries and food.

Feeling inclined, I took to Twitter to sing the movie’s praises to the Restaurant Traffic faithful and posed a question to our followers:

Next thing I knew our Twitterverse lit up with recommendations and preferred sushi spots in Charlotte.

Jason Yarborough of Local Vox chimed in that he enjoys Bonsai Fusion in the 7th Street Public Market.

Readers kept piping up with recommendations for restaurants that I had yet to try, and I promptly added them to my list of contenders for future posts:

So tomorrow I’ll be taking the numerous recommendations for Bonsai Fusion to task and stop in for a taste of where Charlotte dreams of sushi. We’ll get back to you with the details.

Sound off in the comments section below if there are other sushi restaurants you think we should visit.
