Einstein Bagels is about to open their first Ballantyne location in the former Ikos Aegean Grill site on Conlan Circle behind the City Range Restaurant. Restaurant Traffic knew Ikos was going to have a tough time when all we heard about from customers was they charged 25 cents for a cup of water. When you are known more for that than anything related to your food in your restaurant you are going to have a tough time.
Einstein is a formidable group with over 730 locations. They are the largest operator of bagel bakeries in the world. They are a quick casual concept based in Colorado. They not only feature fresh bagels baked daily but also sandwiches, salads and gourmet coffees. They offer a comfortable environment with Wi-Fi where you can hang out or even have a business meeting. Commercial brokers Bryan Wyker and Malcolm McLean of The Providence Group found the site and negotiated the deal for Einstein.
That is Bryan 4th from the right and Malcolm is to the left of him. We think Einstein is the perfect fit for that location. We always say high end does not work in Ballantyne and all the closed restaurants are a testament to that. If you see the line at Starbucks every day in the center next to Einstein you will know they are on to something.
They will do well in this location.
Tough location, for some reason restaurants do not do well in this area. Can’t figure out why.
The traffic flow there (Conlan @ John Delaney) is horrible. It will improve after Bissell reconfigures the design, hopefully. Einstein has a pretty good product, so I hope they do well there.
Anyone have any idea if there is anything going into the City Range site? That has been empty for a long time.
We keep hearing an Italian restaurant.
We can’t officially confirm it yet but Biaggi’s is what we hear is going into the City Range space http://www.biaggis.com
Excited about Einstein Brothers coming to Ballantyne!
“High end does not work in Ballantyne?” kind of a sweeping comment based on two or three formal restaurant closings years ago. There has not been any high end options for years. Let me see, high end failures outside of Ballantyne… Flemmings, M5, Manzettis, Oceanaire, Mortons, McIntosh, Nobles, Harpers, Bistro 100, La Bibliotheque, Palamino, Bluprint, Guytanos, Peter James Townhouse, San Antonio, Somoma and many more…that’s just in the last two years.
Realistically formal dining closings are not exclusive to the two or three in Ballantyne…they’re everywhere. Be cognizant of your sweeping comments, instead, you should be heaping praise on all parts of our city for what it is: an extremely fertile area to grow a business and live your life.
Smokey Bissell is that you?
I went to the Biaggi’s website and it looks really good. I can’t wait. I am going to disagree with Meta4 since i don’t think high end works in Ballantyne either. My opinion.
High end will never work in Ballantyne. Too many families and not enough money out there.
They are going to have a tough time. Getting in and out of there is a nightmare. They should fire whoever designed that whole street. Awful.
There are a couple of ways to get to this restaurant. One is not too bad. Subway and Pei Wei don’t have any problem getting customers and they have TERRIBLE parking. I work in Ballantyne and hope this does well. We need a drive thru in the area.
