American (New) Restaurants

Providence Cafe in Myers Park closed this past weekend after 21 years.  That is a long time in the restaurant world.  Providence Cafe was known for its chef driven cuisine and see and be seen atmosphere.  Charlotte has lost a lot of mainstay restaurants the past few years with Charley's and Manzetti's also closing after 2 decade long runs.  The owners of Ruth's Chris Steakhouse plan on opening a California style concept in the former Providence Cafe site.
