Foxcroft Wine Company: Wine Bar, Retail & Fresh Local Menu

Foxcroft Wine Company is much more than a wine bar. Starting off on Fairview Road as a small shop, the company soon evolved to meet the demand of it’s clientele by selling wine by the glass. Eventually a full service kitchen was built out and fresh, local, and seasonal dishes were created to compliment all of the great wine options. Peruse bottles of wine while you wait on your order. All bottles on display are available for purchase at retail cost, from regions such as Italy and France. From the intricate lighting to the custom crafted seating, the ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to have date night or to meet with a colleague after a long day.

Foxcroft Wine offers 40 different wines by the glass served from a cruvinet to be enjoyed at the table. One “must try” glass for Foxcroft visitors is the Sauvignon Blanc by Patricia Green Sellers from Willamette Valley in Oregon. It’s not your everyday average Sauvignon Blanc, and is a small production because not many wineries produce this varietal, as this region is well-known for the production of Pinot Noir and Pinot-Gris.

Even if you are not in the mood for wine, there is something for everyone at Foxcroft. You can have your choice of twelve rotating beers on tap all from local breweries such as Sycamore, Olde Meck, and NoDa. Feeling peckish? Select a fresh and local small plate prepared from scratch. Foxcroft Wine Co. sources from as many local farmers as possible and this includes weekly trips to the farmer’s market for fresh produce. The menu changes seasonally, so in Summer you can expect something like a light squash flatbread or heirloom fresh tomato sandwich.

Curious as to which elegant menu item is number one on the list? Hand cut truffle fries! This tapas item is topped with truffle salt, grated parmesan and served with truffle aioli, and customers love it! It’s in super high demand and perfect to nibble on while you sip on a smooth glass of chilled white. Another popular menu item is the donuts, which have found their way into numerous “favorite lists” in local articles and magazines. Foxcroft dips their donuts in both cinnamon and powdered sugar and serves them with two signature sauces that change often throughout the week. Think: salted caramel, chocolate ganache, vanilla anglaise and lemon curd. Yum!
