Unknown Brewing Company is About to Blow Up Uptown
After a year and a half of fighting through zoning, investment, building and a slight paint accident, the time has come to celebrate next week’s grand opening of The Unknown Brewing Company. We got a special sneak peek of Unknown’s new operation, compliments of Unknown’s founder and general manager, Brad “Boss Man” Shell, and all we can say is that we’re totally hopped-up to get our hands on the Queen City’s newest batch of craft brews.
The Unknown Brewing Co. will focus on a main core of 3 beers – Over the Edge USPA, Head First Pale Ale, and No Shame Wheat – along with a seasonal rotation of 9 special beers, all of which will be flowing from Unknown’s tap room at next week’s event. Given Shell’s 10 years of prior experience with several acclaimed breweries such as SweetWater, Terrapin, Rougue, and Fish Brewery, along with head brewer Dave Scott and sales director Larry Suggs rounding out the three-man management team, we’re expecting that Unknown Brewing Company’s offerings will soon be the biggest buzz on the local brewery scene.
If you’re interested in sampling the suds, Unknown is hosting a grand opening party of epic proportions next Saturday, November 9, from 4-10pm. Aside from the 12 beers on tap, attendees will enjoy catered food, door prizes and live music from Bubonic Funk, DeRobert & The Half-Truths and The London Souls. It all goes down at Unknown’s 25,000 square foot facility, located at 1327 South Mint Street (across from Little Hardware and a few blocks west of Bank of America Stadium).
