New Jersey based Gigi's Cupcakes is going to open their first Charlotte location in the Sharon Corners Shopping Center in Southpark.  Cupcakes are hot.   People use them for their wedding cakes now.  Victoria Secrets supermodels eat them after the TV specials.

OK, I have no idea if Adriana Lima has ever touched a cupcake but that is a cheap way to get a photo of her in this post.  Gigi's Cupcakes bake their cupcakes freshly every morning.  They are delicious, which helps.

Gigi's joins several other cupcake stores in Charlotte.  Polka Dot Bake Shop in Myers Park was the first cupcake store in the Queen City and is still going strong.  I know from personal experience if you don't make it to Polka Dot early a certain 6 year old girl will be disappointed since they run out of cupcakes early.
