Huzzah! The Queen’s Feast Is Nearly Upon Us
The Queen’s Feast, a.k.a., Charlotte Restaurant Week, kicks off next Friday and runs from January 17th through 26th. For $30 a head (excluding taxes and tip), this year over 100 restaurants are offering Charlotte epicureans a three course meal. The tables fill up quickly every year and we highly-recommend you reserve a table via the Queen’s Feat Open Table page or by calling one of the participating restaurants.
The diversity of choices for Charlotte Restaurant Week includes establishments across the QC metro area. And although Zink (now closed) tried to cut a couple corners on their prix fixe menu offering during my Queen’s Feast visit last year, my other experiences with the annual event remain positive. Just be prepared for the possibility of longer wait and ticket times even with a reservation, as I’ve experienced the increased customer volume puts many kitchens and rooms at maximum capacity. I’ve also used the Queen’s Feast as a way of getting into popular restaurants that are not participating- as the dining public turn their attention and dollars on Charlotte Restaurant Week.
We won’t name all the ones we like but here is our shortlist of restaurants we encourage you to try: Bonterra, Fiama, The Cajun Queen, Pisces Sushi, Heist Brewery, Bistro La Bon, 131 Main, Trattoria Antica, Passion8 Bistro, Nan & Byron’s, 5Church, Georges, Upstream, Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar, Aria, e2,
