Leroy Fox opened for lunch this past Monday. Restaurant Traffic decided to check them out and we were happy we did. Leroy Fox is located in the former Hotel Charlotte in the Cotswold area. There were some touches left over from the old restaurant but they really cleaned up the place. Hotel Charlotte was there for 30 years so it needed some freshening up.
We talked to owner Shawn Wilfong about future plans for the restaurant. Shawn said they are currently at work on the outdoor patio and when finished it will have TV's, a fire pit and heaters. Leroy Fox has a comfortable feel to it and that is by design. It will certainly become Cotswold's favorite watering hole if it is not already.
The menu was one page front and back. Our sever Katheryn was great and she made some solid suggestions on what we should try. Fried chicken is one of the house specialties and we went with it plus the Fox Slaw which is their version of coleslaw. Yes those are corn bread muffins on the plate.
We also talked to Martin Sprock who is part of the ownership group. Martin also owns The Italian Pie and The Penguin here in town. Leroy Fox has got some serious horsepower behind it. Adam went with the Club Wrap and the black eyed pea salad. They put a lot of effort into their side dishes.
Leroy Fox had plenty of TV's and we are sure it will be a favorite place to catch the game in the neighborhood. The staff was friendly and seemed to be having a good time. Our next visit will be at night to check out the vibe, you can only learn so much from lunch. Drink Specials anyone?
The chicken looks burnt.
Went there last week and thought it was great.
Went there after work with some friends for a few drinks and the place was lively. Had a lot of fun and will go back.
I also went there with a few friends and the food was so-so. They are new and we will definitely be back and see if it was just opening week problems that plague all restaurants.
It looks like more of a bar than a restaurant. They will do well in Cotswold since they need a bar for the locals.
Went there over the weekend. Thought it was good. I can see it turning into more of a bar than a restaurant in the future.
