New Bar Featuring Local Artists Coming To NoDa

The Company Store, a new art gallery and bar, is coming to Charlotte’s historic arts district this March. Urban farmers and NoDa residents, Scott Lindsley and Joey Hewell, aim to create a neighborhood hangout where people can socialize while appreciating local artists. The bar will serve beer and wine as well as some light bites including cheese plates, charcuterie and assorted dips.

Located at 3221 Yadkin Avenue, the 1,250-sqft space was restored from a 1905 duplex and will feature a minimalist, laid back atmosphere. Owners Lindsley and Hewell worked on most of the renovation themselves and The Company Store name itself has a sense of history. “In the heyday of manufacturing, mill villages and mining towns would have a company store that provided workers with groceries and other essentials. It would also be a place for neighbors to socialize,” Hewell says. “Since NoDa was originally a mill village, (the name) would be a nod to that working-class history.”

The Company Store is set to open on Friday, March 4th. The bar will be open 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and noon-9 p.m. Sundays. For more information click here to visit their Facebook page.
