Restaurant Traffic can confirm that Xenia Hospitality Group is going to open a new restaurant in the former 15 North Roadside Kitchen space on the hot Montford Entertainment Corridor. The Xenia Group is the former Stratos Restaurant Group which owns and runs the popular local restaurants Nolen Kitchen, Big View Diner and Ilios Noche.
Olympia Development Group is going to build the new restaurant. Olympia also built Big View and is currently expanding Ilios Noche. There is a void in Charlotte for groups that build restaurants now that the McAllister Group closed shop a few months ago.
Here is the gang from Olympia. Xenia would not disclose what type of restaurant they are going to open. They do hope to be open by June 1st. Stay tuned to RT for updates.
This group runs great restaurants. We go to Nolen Kitchen all the time and the food and service is second to none. I will be interested to see what type of food they serve.
Yes, I live in Ballantyne and Big View always delievers a good quality dining experience.
Those guys look like they really understand the Montford Crowd. Especially with such endeavors as Big View Diner/Upscale Chuckie Cheeze. Good Luck Fellas
Ti Ti you don’t even know what type of restaurant they are putting there. How can you be so negative about something you know nothing about?
I can hardly wait to see what these guys come up with.
They need to know the Montford crowd is different from the Selwyn Avenue crowd. Younger and more hip. I think Nolen Kitchen is good but I doubt it would work on Montford.
PoppinTurtle, that is what I’m saying. This isn’t Ballantyne/SC or Selwyn. It is a way younger crowd (18-28) looking to get inebriated. The street is getting wilder as the years go by. The place needs to not worry about catering to the crowd’s parents (ala Andrew Blair’s tried this), They need to renovate/build a great outdoor space to compete with the rest of the bars or be prepared to not be busy during summer months.
Good Food seems to do a good job catering to the older folks (over 30) I can’t believe I am referring to 30 as being old.
Andrew Blair’s was poorly run. That is why it failed.
Andrew Blair’s is still open as a nightclub on certain nights.
If they are going to be open in 6 weeks they need to get moving. I drove by there yesterday and it did not look like there was much going on.
This is what is coming off the Restaurant Lead Report:
