Nix Burgers & Brew in Uptown Charlotte has closed for dinner according to our sources.  Nix just recently started opening for lunch only which is never a good sign for a restaurants health.  It has been a bad couple of months for owner Nick LaVecchia who recently closed down his signature restaurant LaVecchia's.

Nix really went down hill the past year or so. They seemed to kind of give up. Maybe it was management, I don’t know but they were not the same restaurant anymore. The managers might have seen the writing on the wall and just tried to look out for themselves, who knows?

This has been coming for months. I work close to them and we don’t even go there anymore.

Odds are they will be closed by January. Right now he is trying to get whatever he can while he tries to book holiday parties. It isn’t to survive in hopes of making it make it… but rather to milk any money they can. (not implying there is anything wrong with it, just buyer be warned)

The place just looks like it is on life support. I certainly would not be buying any gift certificates to this restaurant.

Make sure you check your credit card/debit card charge closely once it processes through. I was over-billed when I went here. Waitress trying to scam a few extra bucks off a 20% tip I left. Dirty. Even if they weren’t cutting back I still would never step foot in this place again.
