Passion8 to Join Already Impressive Lineup of Elizabeth Ave. Eateries

Charlotte restaurant

In case it wasn’t already, Elizabeth Avenue is poised to become a THE destination for Charlotte foodies. Joining an already impressive lineup of popular eateries such as Viva Chicken, Carpe Diem, Customshop, and recent addition, Earl’s Grocery, Passion8 Bistro will be closing their cramped and tucked away Fort Mill location and moving to prime real estate on Elizabeth “Eat St.” Avenue.

The upscale farm-to-table bistro plans to double their seating capacity, nearly triple in venue size, and eventually expand their menu to offer lunch and Sunday brunch. When complete, the restaurant will boast a 20-seat bar, a 40-person capacity mezzanine for private events, 3 dining areas and a 10-seat chef’s table. When all is said and done Passion8 Bistro will have dining capacity for 140 in nearly 5000 sq. feet of space.

Italian-born Executive Chef, Luca Annunziata and his wife, Jessica have lofty expectations for the location, but vow to stay true the same love and passion from which Passion8 was founded on 8 years ago. They plan to maintain their devotion to using high quality, in-season ingredients from local producers and to emulate the great European tradition of hospitality. According to Jessica, the new location will feature “rustic-meets-modern” decor, a departure from the intimate, european and traditional feel of the current venue.

I had the opportunity to get sneak peek of the previously unoccupied space, which began work in April, and can envision the potential. I’ve never had the opportunity to visit the current location, but I have high expectations for the new locations and can’t wait to see what they bring to the table…literally. Although aware of the many potential setbacks involved with opening restaurants, Jessica and Luca are hopeful for a mid September opening. Be sure to stay tuned to Restaurant Traffic for updates on the progress and an opening date!

  1. Glad to hear there will be more space. The Fort Mill location put out some delicious food, but the tight seating always made me claustrophobic!

  2. Sad they will be changing up the decor so much in the new location. That was a big part of their charm.

  3. I loved the old space but I know I will love the new ! The people that made it special are the same so how can it be anything but fabulous !?! Such a great Chef !! With the love and support of his family and staff it will be great.

  4. I am from Ohio and have had the pleasure of eating at Passion 8 Bistro, a few times. It has become a must with my husband and I as we travel to and from Florida for the winter. The food is more than outstanding, both the presentation and the taste. As far as service and atmosphere we consider both in the excellent category. We are looking forward to the opening of the new place. We wish Luca and Jessica the very best.
