RuRu’s Tacos & Tequila
After dining at RuRu’s, I think that I have found my go to spot for the summer. Located in the heart of Myer’s Park, right off of Providence Road, this 1920’s Spanish villa is truly a hidden gem. I love the upscale, yet relaxed ambiance that the restaurant gives off both inside and out. The inside is elegant and inviting which goes nicely with the large outdoor patio that makes you feel right at home. This spot would be perfect for grabbing drinks with friends after work or for a romantic date night setting under the outdoor cafĂ© lighting.
The menu is unlike any other – each item is named after a memorable line or nickname from a famous movie. We started with the “Three Amigos Trio” – fresh salsa, guacamole and queso blanco with sea salt tortilla chips. I enjoyed everything in the trio, but I especially loved the queso. For my entrĂ©e, I choose the “Ruben Feffer.”  I got a mouth-watering rice bowl with marinated skirt steak, black beans, shredded jack cheese and crema. I found the portions to be plentiful, and I thoroughly enjoyed my leftovers for lunch the following day.
RuRu’s offers great drink specials (all for $5 when featured), and I look forward to taking advantage of these deals this summer. Mondays are “Margarita Mondays” featuring the classic “Friend Zone” margarita. Tuesdays are “Tequila Tuesdays” promoting their delicious craft tequila drinks. Wednesdays are “Wine Wednesdays” featuring sangria and half off all bottles of vino. I personally can’t wait to head back and try RuRu’s homemade sangria.
