Village Tavern Charlotte is updating it's large patio. For those of you new to Charlotte, Village Tavern has been a Southpark mainstay for over 2 decades. The patio was always the place to be on Friday nights and several hundred people would congregate there to listen to the live music. The Southpark Mall was not the retail giant it is now. The only restaurants to choose from were Manzetti's, Charlies, Harper's and the Village Tavern.
RT talked to Village Tavern's General Manager Kevin Goulet about the patio this past week. Goulet says the contractor says the patio will be ready to go by this weekend but with all the rain we have been getting we both thought next weekend was a more likely finishing date. RT is going come back once the patio is finished and do a featured article on this Southpark survivor.
Village Tavern used to be the bomb! I have not been there in years, I will have to check out the new patio.
I just had a great lunch there last week. Service was wonderful and my salmon salad was superb. I will be back.
I swear to you I thought this place closed a couple of years ago. Good to hear they are doing well and I will have to give them another try.
The Tavern is a little dated but the food is great. The bar area is small but now that they outlawed smoking, who cares.
The bar was always small and very crowded and the ceiling is low so when it was crowded it seemed really packed. Good to see one of the Southpark originals still alive and kicking.
