Mexican Restaurants

When I saw the sign I knew I had to give Taco Boy a try on a recent family trip to Folly Beach.  I knew Taco Boy had looked at Charlotte for  possible expansion a couple of years back.  The outside of the place looks like a place you would want to avoid, but that is by design.  My wife said she would not eat there by the looks of the place but I changed her mind.  She was happy she listened to me, so happy in fact that we went back for lunch 2 days later.

Taco Boy can best be described as a California/Mexican Taco House.  The place is very loud and bustling.  So loud in fact that if you are sitting at one of the larger tables you struggle to hold conversation with the person across from you.  The place is excellent for taking kids because unless they are setting off fireworks they will not be bothering anyone.

There was no hostess the night we went there so it is a little awkward to try to get a table.  You basically have to hover around people that are leaving and then sit at a dirty table but when in Rome do as the Romans.  We started with the nachos which were outstanding.  Our server was great and enthusiastic but when we asked for silverware we were told they come with the entrees?  If you get a shareable appetizer they should bend the rules and release the knives and forks early.  Part of Taco Boy's charm.

We all pretty much ordered the tacos and they come wrapped in foil which makes eating them much easier.  Taco Boy's food delivers.  Every one at the table was happy with what they ate.  If the food is great people will find you.  I now hope Taco Boy makes it to our friendly city, they will do well.  Cheers!
