YAFO Kitchen Brings Fresh Mediterranean Fare To SouthPark

YAFO Kitchen, the highly anticipated Mediterranean and Middle Eastern inspired concept, has opened its doors in Morrison Place shopping center in SouthPark. Well known Charlotte restaurateur Frank Scibelli is behind the concept, who’s other restaurants include some of the Queen City’s most popular such as Mama Ricotta’s, Midwood Smokehouse and Paco’s Tacos & Tequila. “It is very exciting to be a part of the launch of a totally new concept – particularly one that is such a fresh option for Charlotte. The design of the space needed to reflect that with a very open bright layout combined with colorful materials and natural wood finishes.” say Scibelli.

The menu features a variety of fresh house made dishes such as hummus, braised lamb, tabouli and their soon to be famous Lafa flat bread (over 500 baked fresh daily). There are chef recommend combinations as well as the option for patrons to customize to their liking. Think Chipotle for Middle Eastern cuisine. Although not all dishes are traditionally Middle Eastern, there is something on the menu for all palates including yogurt mac and cheese and roasted brussel sprouts with dates.

Israel born head chef Shai Fargian helms the kitchen and has worked in restaurants in both Israel and NYC before relocating to Charlotte. His passion for this concept is evident in his flavorful, fresh cuisine. Their doors have only been open for a little over two weeks, and so far reviews are stellar.

YAFO offers online ordering for takeout orders and will soon be offering catering services for your next party or office event. YAFO is located at 720 Governor Morrison St in SouthPark, and is open daily from 11am – 9pm.

My passion for great food, service, live music, and beer/wine/bourbon (not necessarily in that order) makes this type of work pretty entertaining.
