Do you know how to spot a great restaurant??? One easy way is if you have a tough time getting a table at lunch.?? I took Mrs. Restaurant Traffic to Basil Thai this past Thursday and although we got there early at 11:30 the place was packed.?? They were soon on a wait before noon.
This is Chai Eang who owns Basil.?? On our visit he was not only greeting people but we saw him wiping down tables so he is what we call a "hands on" owner.?? Basil looks great and the food is fantastic.?? I went with the Pad Thai which is the national dish of Thailand.
The wife went with the Shrimp Vegetable Delight.
Our server (David) was outstanding and even suggested the mixed berry cheesecake which we did order but ate it before we took a picture but trust me it was delicious.??
The patio was full even though it was very hot that day.?? So let's hear it from you, who has the best Thai food in Charlotte?
Gotta go with a classic: Thai Taste on East Blvd.
Can’t argue with Thai Taste. It has been good for a long time.
I vote for Deejai on Providence, never have had a bad meal there.
I think this article mentions the best Thai food in town…. Basil.
David was my server when I went, he was outstanding! Go to Basil and have the red curry duck, so good, ask for David!
The server David is getting a lot of love from the readers.
Basi is in the top 2 along with Thai Taste. Basil is a much hipper environment if that is what you are going for.
Love Basil!!!!!!!!!!
