Queen City Q Brings BBQ to Uptown

QC BBQ

He's Back!  Yes John Duncan is back in the BBQ game in Uptown Charlotte with the newly opened Queen City Q located in the former Lavechia's site.  He also brought along Dan "Boone" Gibson who helped him found and create all the award winning food at Mac's Speed Shop.  We decided to go there for lunch.  TIP-you can park in the deck in the back and they will validate your parking.

The menu is not large.  It is better to do a few menu items really well than to do a lot of menu items really average.  Our server gave us some great suggestions but we could not try everything on the menu.  We settled on the BBQ Pork Plate and BBQ Chicken.

Our favorite sides were the corn and of course the low calorie mac and cheese.  The food comes out really quick so getting in and out of there on a lunch hour is no problem.  They also have 46 beers on tap and 2 different bars.  Of course half the draft beers are at one of the bars and the other half at the other so it must be tough on the servers when they have to visit both bars for a drink order.  Not our problem, though.

Here is a picture of the smaller bar.  We thought the food was great and will be back especially for the Brunswick Stew which we did not have room for.  John Duncan and his gang have hit a home run.
